Back in June my husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. For the occasion, we went for lunch at Zurbaran restaurant in Kolonaki. It has been the talk of the town lately and I was keen on visiting. We went for a late lunch and it was the best time to visit, as the restaurant (bar from the tables on the street) was very quiet.
We got a table on the patio (definitely the best place to sit) and both ordered burgers. What can I say? When there is a burger on the menu it always lures me in! We also got a salad with orange, cranberries and toasted almonds (called Vitamina) for starters.
Zurbaran has a very nice interior design. It has a long bar, a lovely patio and cozy velvet sofas for winter. The burger was delicious and you got to eat a lot (a very lot) for 17€.
We returned a few months ago with friends. My plan was to try the brunch menu, but it wasn’t yet available so we had lunch instead. I resisted the urge to try the burger again (it was that good) and went for the schnitzel. My husband had the risotto. They were both delicious (but I’m still thinking of the burger 😛 ).
Zurbaran easily one a spot on my favorite restaurants’ list. The best time to visit (if you don’t like overly crowded places) is for lunch. On both our visits the service was very good and the staff very friendly. I hope the brunch starts soon so I can visit again.
