The essential guide to Boston

A year ago I moved to Boston for nine months, accompanying my husband who pursued his Master’s degree there. In honor of this anniversary I’m sharing with you a guide to getting around Boston including things to see and do, lovely neighborhoods, where to eat and of course shop!! What to see and do The Freedom trail is a nice way to explore downtown Boston and see important sites linked to the outbreak of the American Revolution. The trail is marked with red pavement stones, so you are not going to miss it. While walking on the trail you will come across Fanueil Hall…

What to Wear: Sightseeing in Knossos

Last week I spent the first part of my vacations in Crete! The plan included relaxing, swimming, attending a wedding, road tripping and visiting Knossos, which was the palace of the mythic King Minos and also the oldest palace in Europe! I will update you with more details on a separate post, but for today I’ll talk about my outfit and give tips on what to wear while sightseeing in Knosos (and any archaeological site in Greece really)! Comfortable shoes is the priority here, as the terrain is rough at some points plus palace of Knossos is huge so you’re bound…

I started my trip from Newport and then worked my way up to Providence. The weather didn’t help much, but at least it didn’t rain, so I got to enjoy both cities without the need of an umbrella! Without further ado, here’s what I got up to! Visit Newport, Rhode Island Newport is a charming coastal town (which I’m a sucker for after…

The setting This last weekend I took a stroll in Voula’s main square and took notice of a new cafe/bar/restaurant called Family (note: we love slashes in this country) which opened a few…

A day trip to Nafplio

Day trip to Nafplio

Nafplio is my favorite day trip destination from Athens. In just 2 hours ride you step back in time and visit Greece’s first capital city after it was liberated from the Ottoman Empire. Now,to be honest at that point Nafplio was a significant city since ancient times. Back then it was called Tirintha (now an archaeological site) and was located a few kilometers from the city’s current position. If you look up to the hill above Nafplio you will see Palamidi fortress built by the Venetians back in the 18th century. Palamidi should be your first port of call when arriving in…
