Christmas Decorations Around Boston

With only one week till Christmas you bet that decorations are in full swing here in Boston! From the North End to Back Bay and over to Somerville where I live there are lights everywhere. And well, Christmas lights (more than any other kind of decorations) are my favorite! So this post is filled with lights and decorations that I came across in my wanderings in Boston and beyond! 2 Days in Montreal

Sooo…two weeks ago I packed up my little pink suitcase, took the warmest clothes I have and traveled to Montreal to visit my friends! It was not my first time there, but this mini trip was ideal for revisiting some favorite spots and discovering new ones. Oh and eat delicious food!! Exploring Boston: South End

  South End is probably my favorite neighborhood at Boston. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the area  has an abundance of Victorian townhouses (the largest historic district in the US). Maybe it has to do with the small parks surrounded by brick English style houses. Maybe it’s the small stores one encounters throughout the area. I can pinpoint exactly what it is, but I like it! Exploring Harvard Square

  Harvard Square in Cambridge was one of the first places I visited since arriving in Boston. I wanted to see that world famous university which stands here from the 17th century. Now the founders of the university won’t be happy when they find out that I was disappointed. You see, I kind of expected to see Gothic architecture, like Cambridge (UK) has. Well, Harvard hasn’t any Gothic architecture bar from the Memorial Hall, which has some Gothic elements. Needless to say, it’s my favorite building in the area!!! A Night at Harvard Art Museums

I’ve made a habit of attending museums after dark in the past few years. First it was  Musee d’Orsay , then the British Museum and now Harvard Art Museums. The latter was a special occasion though, as they re-opened just yesterday after undergoing major renovation led by renowned architect Renzo Piano. Exploring Boston: Parks & Gardens

What I totally enjoy here in Boston is walking through Boston Common and Public Garden when I want to make my way from Downtown to Back Bay. I’ve also ventured out to Arnold Arboretum, passed through Back Bay Fens and explored the park surrounding Mystic River, which is pretty close to where I live. I also like to take pictures of nature and those parks and gardens gave me that opportunity!
