During our visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, we had the pleasure of staying at a Four Seasons hotel. Since it was my first experience with this hotel chain, I made sure to take advantage of its services. I also thought it would be fun to document my stay and share my thoughts with you!

Location

Located on Neftchilar Boulevard, at the SW corner of the Old City, you will find Four Seasons Baku. This luxury hotel is the perfect starting point for anyone who wishes to explore the city. The location is unbeatable: it is next to the seaside promenade and the Old City.

For breathtaking panoramic views of Baku, a 20-minute uphill walk will take you to Highland Park. Alternatively, you can opt for a quick 5-minute stroll to the funicular station for a scenic ride to the top.

The Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid is a must visit. It’s easily accessible via the metro: a 7-minute walk from the hotel will lead you to the Icherisheher metro station.

Accommodation

Our room at Four Seasons Baku was a dream. It had city views and a king size bed. It was easily the largest hotel room I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. Being on the 8th floor only enhanced the experience. Every morning, I woke up to a stunning views of the Flame Towers and the historic Old City. In the evening, I watched the Flame Towers’ light show from my room.

The room featured a walk-in closet. Its large bathroom included a bathtub and a separate shower. Remarkably, it also had the best hair dryer I’ve ever used, even better than my Dyson. Unfortunately, I forgot to note the brand.

Dining and Entertainment

Our mornings began with breakfast at Zafferano restaurant. With a couple of days in Baku, we were eager to explore the city’s culinary scene and decided to focus on local restaurants for lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet offered a satisfying spread, featuring both hot and cold dishes, an egg station, and a selection of fresh fruits and nuts.

Beyond breakfast, Zafferano also caters to business lunches and dinners. Other dining options are Piazza Lounge, Bentley’s Whiskey & Cigar Room, Eyvan Terrace, and In-Room Dining. On our final night, we opted for the convenience of In-Room Dining. The friendly staff even surprised us with a complimentary dessert to apologize for a slight delay in service.

Services and Facilities

The service at the Four Seasons Baku was excellent, as one would expect from such a prestigious hotel. The reception staff were incredibly helpful, assisting with restaurant reservations and providing valuable local recommendations. I particularly appreciated the option to communicate with staff via Messenger. As someone who prefers to avoid phone calls, this was a convenient and efficient way to address any questions or requests.

The hotel’s spa, located on the 9th floor, offered a serene escape. I indulged in a relaxing Biologique Recherche facial, which left my skin feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

The indoor pool on the 7th floor, while beautiful, was somewhat noisy due to the water circulation system. Next to the pool there is a vitality pool at 37.5 degrees Celsius which provides a soothing soak. As a hotel guest, I also had access to the hammam and jacuzzi on the 9th floor.
