Last week I spent the first part of my vacations in Crete! The plan included relaxing, swimming, attending a wedding, road tripping and visiting Knossos, which was the palace of the mythic King Minos and also the oldest palace in Europe! I will update you with more details on a separate post, but for today I’ll talk about my outfit and give tips on what to wear while sightseeing in Knosos (and any archaeological site in Greece really)!
Comfortable shoes is the priority here, as the terrain is rough at some points plus palace of Knossos is huge so you’re bound to do some walking! Mine are from Fantasy Sandals and although I’m not the biggest fan of the white outsole, I have to admit that they are super comfortable for walking (which I tend to do a lot) as they are anatomic!
I kept my outfit super simple and airy! My chambray shorts are from Banana Republic (best buy of the year!) and the top from Zara (also seen here). I regretted not wearing my floppy hat as well, but it was windy that day! I regretted it though as the sun was merciless (and I was stupid enough to visit at midday). I topped of my outfit with a colorful bag, which was a gift from my Pakistani friends and a turquoise necklace! I think my outfit colors matched the palace of Knossos! What do you think?
Last but not least when visiting archaeological sites during summer wear sunscreen. Lots of it!
What do you wear to go sightseeing?
I love that bag! I’ve really been into pops of orange lately. It surprisingly goes with a lot of things and feels perfect for summer.
