Beacon Hill is one of the first places in Boston that I explored and I must admit the coziest one. It’s full of 19th century buildings, nice little squares and antique shops on Charles street. As my guide (Top 10 Boston) says this area screams “old money”, so my fellow Athenians could compare this are with Kolonaki. Minus the nightlife and the abundance of cafes and restaurants which Beacon Hill (compared to Kolonaki) doesn’t have. Charles street is actually the only street in the area with some serious commercial activity as it’s full of antique shops, cafes and restaurants (spotted a couple that I’d like to visit). That’s where the photos with the signs are from!
My favorite place in Beacon Hill has to be Louisburg Square, which definitely has a London feeling to it. I also love walking on Beacon street, because on the one side you have all these beautiful buildings (like this one) and on the other you have the parks, which is Boston Common and Public Garden. On Beacon Street you’ll also find the Massachusetts State House with its golden dome (yeah really), which is rather shiny on sunny days!!

So, this isn’t the last time you hear about Beacon Hill, because I’m definitely going there again to explore all the little streets I didn’t on the first place (Acorn is on my list) and report back! As usual here’s the map with my suggested walking route! Enjoy!
Wow, I’ve not spent too much time in Boston, just visiting friends and a wedding, but it looks wonderful. I do love the period architecture and the warm vibe that you captured in these photos.Do you live in Boston now? If so, congrats!
