White eyelet shorts (+shoes too)!

August is here and most Athenians leave for vacations. They go to the islands, the mainland, anywhere and everywhere in order to escape the city for a few days. I’ve yet to go on holidays, so every  weekend I head to the southern suburbs of Athens (where my hometown is) for relaxation and of course swimming and lounging at the beach (and share beach snaps on Instagram). The setting This last weekend I took a stroll in Voula’s main square and took notice of a new cafe/bar/restaurant called Family (note: we love slashes in this country) which opened a few…

Floppy Hat

Last week my husband and I went on a day trip to Nafplio to meet with friends It was hot and sunny so I opted for a light sun dress and my trusted floppy hat! The latter is a new addition to my accessories list! I always had an affinity for hats, but smaller ones like fedoras. The floppy hat though was love at first sight! I was playing around with it at Macy’s while my friends looked for gifts back in March. When I placed it on me I realized that it suits me far better than fedoras…so I had to make…

Bohemian summer

There are two things I like to do on weekends. Either lounge at the beach, swim and work on my tan (the latter is a joke actually because I never spend too much time under the sun and I do wear sunscreen) or walk around Athens’ city center. Yesterday I did the latter. It was my wedding anniversary, so my husband and I went for lunch at Indian Kitchen in Athens and then strolled around Plaka in order to suit my outfit. I chose this summer boho dress for the day. It’s very light and comfortable. I styled it with a…

Shine Bright Like a Diamond: presenting Swarovski’s Winter Gardens

It’s no secret that I love statement necklaces! I also love sunset and spending afternoons by the sea! That’s why Swarovski’s presentation for their Winter Gardens collection sounded like a good idea to spend a Tuesday afternoon! I got to check out the new Swarovski collection for the upcoming season fall/winter 2015-2016 (yes I know it’s barely summer yet, but you know how these things go in the fashion world), enjoy the sunset at Alimos beach and try on that lovely statement necklace that you may or may not spotted on Instagram! The rest of my ensemble consisted of a…

I love New York!

That photo shoot should have taken place in New York in order to match the t-shirt. But it happened in Cambridge, MA next to the Charles River and across from Harvard Business School (which you can see in a photo in the background). Now, this t-shirt is the only souvenir t-shirt I own. My souvenir collection is usually about magnets and shot glasses. For the latter I have a cool display that my uncle made for me. Needless to say that it is already full!! But t-shirts? Never.I find them too tacky and not well made.

Shades of Blue

Finally an outfit post, showcasing spring clothes and colors as I promised in my previous one! My husband and I took advantage of the lovely weather last Sunday (which was also Easter Sunday for us, as we’re Orthodox Christians) and ventured out to Beacon Hill for some photos. Now, the hill’s cobblestone streets are not the best for wearing heels, but I absolutely needed to take my Prada pumps out of storage! It’s been more than 6 months since I last wore them! In true Anna fashion I decided to color co-ordinate my outfit (except for the shoes). The shirt has…

Grey Coat

Spring is finally here in Boston! Yesterday was a glorious day! Today as well! Big news, I know! I even spotted many crocus flowers the other day, while running errands. These photos though were shot last weekend though, after we visited the Museum of Fine Arts. I’m happy that I am finally able to wear this grey coat that I got from Armani Exchange during the winter sales! To be honest everything that I bought during those sales waited patiently in my closet to be worn, as during the winter months I had one particular uniform that kept me warm! I…

Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

I try to sneak in outfit photo sessions while traveling, I really do, but I tend to gravitate towards certain pieces of clothing (looking at you grey jeans) and always strive for comfort and convenience versus “I have to wear XYZ for the blog”. Yet, I couldn’t pass up that metal wall of de Young museum in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, which actually begged to be a background for an outfit shoot! The Golden Gate Park is a place you should definitely visit in San Francisco. It has so many things to do that you can easily spend a…

Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles

As a Frank Gehry fan, I couldn’t miss seeing the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles! We parked nearby and started our walk around Downtown LA from this place. But first, we walked around the building, which spans almost 4 acres, took some “outfit” photos and enjoyed the Blue Ribbon garden and this exquisite rose shaped fountain. The fountain is made up from broken up Delft porcelain and is dedicated to Lillian Disney, Walt’s wife, who pledged a $50 million gift towards the construction of a new concert hall. The concert hall was inaugurated in 2004 and is the home…

A night at Boston Ballet

It’s been a week since I came back from California. A week spent with my friends from Greece which came with me to Boston after our California road trip! We braved the cold and did sightseeing, shopping and dining in Boston. We also visited the Boston Opera House to see the newest Boston Ballet performance called Shades of Sound. The show was brilliant (especially the Chroma part which you can see a preview here), but it did not make me miss my ballet days as ballet is so physically demanding and I’m not flexible at all!

3 Wedding Dress Shopping Tips

I belong to the kind of people who want to get the most out of (all) their clothes.  When I go shopping I always calculate (mentally) in how many ways I can wear a specific item. The more, the better! It was only natural that I could think the same when I chose my wedding dress. I know, it’s one in a lifetime experience and a wedding dress can’t be usually worn again (unless you up-cycle it) and that’s exactly why I chose this particular wedding dress: it is convertible (though I didn’t know that tiny detail when I set my eyes…
