Christmas Wreaths in Boston

As much as I love my hometown, Christmas decorations is not a field it excels at. Surely there are lights on the streets and festive arcades (not to mention a holiday bar), but let’s be honest, there are so many cities abroad that have better Christmas decorations than Athens! And that’s exactly what I enjoyed last year while living in Boston: the Christmas decorations! On a previous post I’ve shared a lot of light decorations around the city, both public and private ones. The best light decoration and display was at Faneuil Hall, where Blink!, which is an hourly light and sound display,…

The essential guide to Boston

A year ago I moved to Boston for nine months, accompanying my husband who pursued his Master’s degree there. In honor of this anniversary I’m sharing with you a guide to getting around Boston including things to see and do, lovely neighborhoods, where to eat and of course shop!! What to see and do The Freedom trail is a nice way to explore downtown Boston and see important sites linked to the outbreak of the American Revolution. The trail is marked with red pavement stones, so you are not going to miss it. While walking on the trail you will come across Fanueil Hall…

Foodie guide to Boston

I’m back with a new foodie guide! Last time it was Montreal and this time is all about Boston (Cambridge and Somerville as well) the city I called home from September 2014 to May 2015. This post covers the restaurants and cafes I’ve visited in this lovely city, which you should also check too if you find yourself in the area. I hope you’re not hungry by the way, because this post is kind of dangerous! Alden & Harlow Alden & Harlow is an American restaurant which uses locally sourced ingredients. Add delicious cocktails and semi-industrial interiors to the list and…

Exploring Boston: South End

South End is probably my favorite neighborhood at Boston. Maybe it has to do with the fact that the area  has an abundance of Victorian townhouses (the largest historic district in the US). Maybe it has to do with the small parks surrounded by brick English style houses. Maybe it’s the small stores one encounters throughout the area. I can pinpoint exactly what it is, but I like it! I initially visited the area after walking around Chinatown and Theater District on a hot September day. But when the time came for me to review my photos, none made…

Exploring Boston: Parks & Gardens

What I totally enjoy here in Boston is walking through Boston Common and Public Garden when I want to make my way from Downtown to Back Bay. I’ve also ventured out to Arnold Arboretum, passed through Back Bay Fens and explored the park surrounding Mystic River, which is pretty close to where I live. I also like to take pictures of nature and those parks and gardens gave me that opportunity! I was pretty hyped when visiting the Arboretum because I got to see trees and bushes that I haven’t seen before! When crossing the Back Bay Fens I stumbled upon a…

Acorn Street, Boston

Acorn street is a teeny tiny cobblestone street in Beacon Hill, Boston. Blink and you’ll miss it! That’s what happened to me when I first visited Beacon Hill at least. But that cute little street kept popping up on my Instagram feed, so as the sucker I am for cute streets and houses I had to visit. With a little help from Google maps and my exploration mode on I finally made it there today! So here it is ladies and gentlemen! One of the loveliest streets in Boston. Would love to live there by the way!
