To recap: Thessaloniki is Greece’s second-largest city located in the region of Macedonia in Northern Greece. Unlike Athens, Thessaloniki wasn’t a famous city in ancient times, as the Macedonian Kings had chosen different cities as their base: Aeges, Phillipi, Pydna.
