10 places to visit in Greece (2016 in review)

2016 was the first in many years that I didn’t travel abroad. Yet I made up for it, by traveling a lot in Greece both for work and leisure. Most of those trips where well documented on the blog and Instagram and here’s my yearly round-up! I hope that you’ll get inspired and add some of these cities and islands on your travel list for 2017. 1) Chania was the first city I visited in the 2016 spending a weekend there and then revisited in September for a wedding. Pepe Nero, Herakleion

I had spotted Pepe Nero back in 2012 and wanted to visit ever since, as I had passed so many times in front of it! You see I have an affinity for Italian restaurants 🙂 Especially more so if the interior looks nicely put together. So last month I had the opportunity to visit and I wasn’t disappointed! The food is really good and it’s not frilly. It has a large selection of appetizers and meat dishes. Of course we tried out mostly meat dishes like steak and lamb chops, as well as some side dishes such as fried potatoes, roasted mushrooms and omelette with spinach….

Heraklion, Crete

Last week I published some photos from my vacations in Crete, but there’s more to come! Today I’m featuring photos from Herakleion city. It’s easy to notice that most of my photos are architecture-oriented: the photo above depicts the peculiar church of Saint Titus, while below there are a lot of balconies’ details photos! Also I couldn’t resist shooting a couple of interesting building as well as the statues of Eleftherios Venizelos (a well known Greek politician) and Erotokritos and Aretousa (fictional characters of Vitsentzos Kornaros’ poem Erotokritos). In the second row you’ll find photos from a former Roman and…
