Now that summer is (finally) here, I’ve traded hot chocolate and tea for ice cream and waffles. So, it’s time for another “this or that post” featuring Waffle House and Buffala Gelato in Vouliagmeni!

Waffle House Vouliagmeni

Let’s start with the older establishment in the neighborhood! Waffle House opened in Naxos back in 1996 and then opened in Vouliagmeni in 2006. It’s always a difficult task to secure a table especially during the weekends, but its worth it!
I love its waffles as they are thinner than the classic Belgian ones. The ice cream selection in Waffle House Vouliagmeni is also a vast one, ranging from simple to complex ones. My favorite one has to be Bueno (featuring pieces of Fererro’s popular chocolate bar). Waffle ice which contains pieces of chocolate waffle candy is also a nice option!

Bufala Gelato

Bufala Gelato is the new entry in Vouliagmeni. Its gelato range includes flavors made from cow milk and buffalo milk. They also have a cold stone, where you can mix any flavor with various fillings! If you have visited the US, you’ve probably heard of Coldstone Creamery! What drew my eye was the bubble waffle which is popular in SE Asia and Japan. So I went for a bubble waffle (they call it Buffle cone) with a cold stone ice cream flavor.

I particularly liked that the buffle waffle cone is smaller than the usual waffles. The taste is different though as it contains more eggs. The original bubble waffle from Asia is called egg waffle after all!

If you get to visit Vouliagmeni during the summer the choice is going to be tough! Waffle House and Bufala Gelato won’t disappoint you though!

What do you like the most? Waffles or bubble waffles?
