3 NYC Restaurants worth trying out!New York City is one of the few cities, where I had a problem finding a decent restaurant. Of course that was why I was looking in all the wrong places like Times Square and Pier 17. The good thing was, that the extremely bubbly tour guide on the doubledecker bus to Brooklyn gave us the best tip: head to Hell’s Kitchen. Long story short I never made it to Hell’s Kitchen, but I found out Restaurant Row (aka W46th street) with lots of options that never disappoint (tried 2 different restaurants, both very good). During my last visit in NYC, I visited an old favorite and discovered two new places to add to my “list”!

P.J. Clarke’s, 915 Third Avenue, at 55th Street

This was recommended by a friend of mine back in 2010 and it become a favorite of mine because of the cozy atmosphere  (think red checkered tablecloths) and delicious burgers! It’s situated in a small building that thankfully didn’t end up becoming a skyscraper!

Il Buco, 47 Bond Street (NoHo)

I found out about Il Buco accidentally, from a comment left on Anna’s blog about things to to in NYC. Finding a restaurant without a queue (and without having reservations) during the Christmas holidays is a tough thing in New York City and I’m extremely happy we were able to have a late (by American standards) lunch there. The food and dessert were delicious as was the ambiance of the restaurant. I definitely recommend it and I will definitely visit again!

Bourbon Street, 346 W 46th st (Restaurant Row)

(now closed)

Bourbon street is yet another gem found on restaurant row (though I can’t remember the name of the first restaurant I tried out on this street 5 years back). Bourbon street brings New Orleans vibes (and cuisine) straight to NYC. The chicken and biscuits was simply delicious, as was the Bourbon steak and shrimp (that’s what my husband got). Bonus points for serving water and refreshments in Mason Jars!

How about you? Which are your favorite restaurants in NYC?
