Herakleion fortress (a.k.a. Koules)

It started off as an outfit post, but there were so many interesting places to shoot in Herakleion, so it kind of ended an outfit/travel post to compliment the previous posts about Herakleion here and here. The walk started from Chandakos street and more specifically from Pepe Nero restaurant, which I managed to visit this time and I will feature in the blog shortly! Herakleion’s new Library, located on “The Lions” square was our next stop. Maybe, the buildings pink-ish color played a role in choosing it as a photo background…just saying!

The Venetian Loggia which now houses the City Hall was an obvious spot for photos. The atrium and the shell-like alcove is worth visiting and of course shooting. Another spot I was eager to shoot was an old door probably from the Venetian era with an arch which is now incorporated into a modern building before heading to the Venetian Arsenal (shipyard). Last stop Herakleion’s old port where the photo above was taken!

Enjoy my walk around Herakleion and stay tuned about my visit in Pepe Nero…yum yum!

P.S. I was wearing an Esprit t-shirt, Zara jeans, parka and bag (yeah I know Zara is my God) and Folli Follie jewelry.
